Durdans Hospital Upgrades to Advanced Electrophysiology System with DIMO Healthcare

Durdans Hospital, the first healthcare institution in Sri Lanka to implement an Electrophysiology (EP) system, has taken a significant step in advancing cardiac care by upgrading to the Abbott WorkMate Claris 2D system from DIMO Healthcare. This latest enhancement aims to further improve the hospital’s ability to diagnose and treat irregular heart rhythms, ensuring superior patient care.

The WorkMate Claris 2D system assists electrophysiologists in identifying and treating heart rhythm disorders. The human heart relies on an intricate electrical system to maintain its rhythm and regulate blood flow. Disruptions in this system can lead to serious conditions such as arrhythmias, complete heart blocks, and even life-threatening complications. The EP system effectively addresses these irregularities through a procedure called ablation, which prevents erratic electrical impulses from affecting the heart’s rhythm.

A key innovation of the Abbott WorkMate Claris 2D system is its advanced cooling technology, which minimizes damage to healthy tissues during ablation. This cutting-edge system ensures precision in treatment while prioritizing long-term patient management. Additionally, it facilitates real-time collaboration among global medical professionals through secure live visual sharing, further enhancing treatment accuracy and standardization.
