10 Unwritten Rules for Nurses

You won’t learn this in nursing school, but your life will be so much better once you read (and follow) this list. These 10 unwritten rules for nurses or unspoken rules of nursing might seem like common sense, but someone had to say them.

1. Don’t take it home : Keep your work away when you're not there.
2. Treat others how you would want your loved ones to be treated.
3. Avoid making promises or keeping secrets.
4. Look after yourself.
5. Look after your staff and they will look after you.
6. Don’t dump on the next shift.
7. Never type/write when angry.
8. Always be able to defend your practice.
9. If it isn’t written down, it didn’t happen. Keep all records clearly.
10. Breath well.
